Knowledge Self-efficacy and Altruism on Knowledge Sharing Behavior by Knowledge Sharing Intention as a Mediating Variable

Abstract

This study aims to examine: (1) The effect of Knowledge Self-efficacy on Knowledge Sharing Behavior; (2) The effect of Altruism on Knowledge Sharing Behavior; (3) The effect of Knowledge Sharing Intention on Knowledge Sharing Behavior; (4) The effect of Knowledge Self-efficacy on Knowledge Sharing Intention; (5) The effect of Altruism on Knowledge Sharing Intention; (6) The effect of Knowledge Self-efficacy on Knowledge Sharing Behavior through Knowledge Sharing Intention; and (7) The effect of Altruism on Knowledge Sharing Behavior through Knowledge Sharing Intention. This research using causal as research design. The population of this study is all employees of BPR in Northern Lima Puluh Kota Regency, with 102 people in total. The number of sample in this study is determined by clustered proportional random sampling, so that the sample is 82 people. SEM-PLS is an analysis technique used in this study. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Knowledge Self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on Knowledge Sharing Behavior for employees of BPR in Northern Lima Puluh Kota Regency; (2) Altruism has a positive, but insignificant effect on Knowledge Sharing Behavior for employees of BPR in Northern Lima Puluh Kota Regency; (3) Knowledge Sharing Intention has a positive and significant effect on Knowledge Sharing Behavior for employees of BPR in Northern Lima Puluh Kota Regency; (4) Knowledge Self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on Knowledge Sharing Intention for employees of BPR in Northern Lima Puluh Kota Regency; (5) Altruism has a positive and significant effect on Knowledge Sharing Intention for employees of BPR in Northern Lima Puluh Kota Regency; (6) Knowledge Self-efficacy has a positive, but insignificant effect on Knowledge Sharing Behavior through Knowledge Sharing Intention as a mediating variable for employees of BPR in Northern Lima Puluh Kota Regency; and (7) Altruism has a positive and significant effect on Knowledge Sharing Behavaior through Knowledge Sharing Intention as a mediating variable for employees of BPR in Northern Lima Puluh Kota Regency.
